Everything is fine, except the brightness of this model is not as good as the other brands.

Pros: Great picture, great connectivity, and great looking.

Cons: Remote isn’t the greatest (no quick change for av ins) but it isn’t all that bad…

Overall: Great tv that costs way less than what you would expect!

I brought this TV and kept it in my basement. I was waiting for my basement to be completed to mount it on the wall. Once the basement was done, mounted it on the wall and hooked up all my connections..Voila!..No Picture and No Sound. I called the LG Customer service and they sent one of their service guys with bunch of Parts and the service guy after 2 hours of tests and tells me the Part which broken is back ordered and asks me to call the Customer Service again (mind..I never switched this TV on and already a part is broken). The Customer service guys tells me they will have the missing part in next couple of days. I call back again after 2 days and now they say that the Part is back ordered and will not be available for next 3-4 weeks. So, now they want me to fax the receipt so that they can think of POTENTIAL exchange.

Faxed the receipt and still waiting for the response. It’s been a week now and every time I call them they say the that they are still reviewing my case. The customer Service guys are really RUDE and every time i call them has to explain the whole situation again from the begining. Very bad experience and would never buy any LG product in my life.

I purchased this TV (from amazon!) back in August 2009, replacing a 40″ Samsung LCD TV. First, it looks amazing. The styling is great – a solid sheet of glass covers the front and it looks stunning. It’s hard to even see where the bezel ends and the screen begins when it’s turned off, a very slick look. The picture is pretty fantastic, but I’ve had a couple issues.

First, I have the ESPN2 logo “burnt in” to the screen; I put ‘burnt in’ in quotes because it’s a very strange sort of burn-in. It’s only visible when looking at a completely black source. This is puzzling because I can’t imagine how the logo could have gotten on for long enough for that sort of thing to happen; my cable box shuts off automatically after a couple hours of disuse, if nothing else. Second, there have been several periods where the top of the screen, a perfect cut horizontally, suddenly becomes darker than the bottom. It just happens out of nowhere and goes away out of nowhere as well; turning the TV on and off didn’t fix it. I’ve only seen it for maybe 15 minutes worth of viewing in the past 4 months, but it’s still concerning.

In terms of nitpicking, the picture of the back here is not correct – the inputs are in (looking at the back) the bottom right. Also, the power button on the set itself is a ‘hard’ switch – if you turn it off through the button, the remote can’t turn it back on. This also turns off the red ‘active’ light that illuminates the IR receiver when the set is off. You can’t turn it off through the button and have it so that the remote can turn it on as well.

There are no real major issues I have with this TV, and I would most likely buy it again (or now that prices have dropped a little, the 60PS80) if I were in the market (which I won’t be for quite some time). All I have are concerns, but I find the burn-in and screen issue somewhat troublesome.

I’ve had this unit for just over 2 months now and I absolutely love it! I use it with my HTPC and the picture quality is phenomenal. I love being able to read my email from my recliner across the room. Setup was very easy. In fact, when it was delivered, the delivery guy had instructions to remain at the house until the unit was hooked up and working so that it could be sent back with him if there were any problems and I would not have to worry about shipping it. That was a first for me with an internet purchase. Can’t really comment on the audio quality as I have a separate surround sound system. The only problem now is I hate going to the bars to watch football because of their “small” screens!
